Why are mothers day photography sessions important? Let me ask you a question? Are you one of the organised people that can think of awesome presents months in advance or are you the person that leaves it to the last moment?
Whichever you are, I can help…. because I am running photo sessions to celebrate Mothers Day. We are all getting older and know that our parents won’t be around forever. But do you have any recent photos of you and your mum? Or of you and your children? We all have the excuses, I want to lose weight, I hate having my photo taken but what if you didn’t have the photo to look back on? How would you feel?
You today are who your children will look back on and your mum today is looking her best. Lets capture those beautiful memories with a Mothers Day Photography Session.
Whether it is for:
Your own mum (or dad, if from a single parent family.. it’s a celebration remember), wife, girlfriend, nanny or grandma. Daughter and her family or even just your children. The choice is yours.
I have sessions available…
How does the session work?
This day is about celebrating all mums, regardless of the age of their children, and all the amazing thing they do for us.
Whether you would like a voucher to be given on the day so that you can come at a later date as a family… or booking it prior to Mothers Day so that you can give the gift on the actual day. The choice is yours. This is a celebration of mums so feel free to bring three generations of families. I want your Mothers Day Photo Session to be memorable day providing wonderful pieces of art that you can proudly show on your wall for many years to come.
Where are the sessions held?
Depending on your family size session can be held at your home, in my home studio or outside in the garden or local park. When booking a session together we can discuss the options and which one will work better for your family.
Wall Art will also be available to purchase and will include a 10% discount to celebrate our mums!
Please click HERE to visit the Family Photography page for more information. If you would like to get in touch please mention Mothers Day.

There is a very good reason why I decided to offer Bespoke School Photos in Horsham and the surrounding areas.
Each year I have photos of my children in their school uniform standing together, ready to start the year. In many areas brothers and sisters attend a primary school and then a secondary school. They get to have their photo taken at school, as individuals and as siblings.
In Sussex , we have primary schools but we also have infants and juniors. So quickly children move from infant school to the junior school and they no longer have photos together. As a child I remember looking at my school sibling photos where we were all sat together. I loved to see how much we had grown but in this area there isn’t that opportunity.
I have decided to run some short sessions where you can bring your children and they have both their individual photos PLUS their sibling photo together. It doesn’t matter which school they go to. They can all be together in their individual school uniform and all for ONE price. PLUS, you will be there so you can ensure that you children are clean and tidy, uniform is smart and their hair has been brushed. Feel free to bring an item they love from school if they wish to have this in their photo to, whether it be reading a book, standing with a cricket bat or football, or even their musical instrument.
How does a bespoke School session work?
The session will last about 10 minutes and I will be run over a few dates. These include after school sessions and some at the weekends, as I know it is REALLY hard to pin children down when there as so many clubs!
PRICING
Now I have to say, this was the trickiest part. EVERYONE wants something different.
Some clients only want a photo of one child whereas some had three children and wanted prints of each child plus sibling photos.
Others wanted actual prints for the grandparents too. Whereas some wanted it for themselves only. A few people said only images on disc to print yourself. Some definitely no disc, some with mounts, some without…. see the list was endless…. ! My brain was a bit overloaded because I wanted to make these affordable to everyone.
At school each set that comes home is for one child so you have a price per child and you can choose which set works best. Here it will be ONE price PER family. You just need to choose which option works best for you. I am happy to discuss other options if you need different sizes etc or mounts.

As a photographer it’s obvious that I love to take photos.. They reckon about 1.2 Trillion Photos are taken each year but that’s as far as it goes, they stay on a phone, maybe end up on social media but they very rarely get printed.
I however, love to see them in print. The day the photos arrive I still get excited! Don’t worry I’m like the rest of you, I don’t print every photo, I still have tons that sit on my phone but I still love to print some of them.
I started doing photography because I wanted other people to be able to have beautiful photos of their children and families, just like I do. I started off only providing galleries for clients, where they could view the photos in the comfort of their own home and look at their photos at their own leisure but still not see a print.
The next stage would be to purchase prints or photos on a USB stick… but again, rightly, or wrongly, photos would not printed and they would stay safe on the computer or USB.
This is why I decided that I wanted to start doing a reveal wall.
What is a reveal wall?
A reveal wall is photo set up of all your edited prints. Once your session has been completed I edit your photos and then print them ALL off as 7×5 inch mounted prints. This enables us to meet up and allows you to see EXACTLY what your photos will look like. You can see your beautiful gallery up close and decide easily which photos you would like to purchase.
Your photos look great on a computer or your phone but they will look stunning when you can see them in your hand. The other great thing about the wall is that if you decide you like the 7×5 inch prints you are able to purchase them and walk away with them that evening.
If you have ANY questions about the reveal wall please do not hesitate to leave a message below or contact me for more details.

Finding things to do in West Sussex can be hard to do when you don’t know what’s out there. But have you heard of Wisbourough Green…
I can’t imagine many people have. Its a lovely, sleepy little village in West Sussex that is set around a village green and a pond. It also has a pub, cafe, school and post office. I only know it because I drive through it or occasionally I cycle to the cafe. However once a year the village comes alive with people and bursts of colour. As 25 balloons descend on the village ready to take flight for the charity Chestnut Tree House!
Around sunrise and sunset the hot air balloons are prepared on the village green. It’s amazing to walk amongst them at the various stages of inflation. The colours are absolutely stunning. Once set up, you can watch the stunning display of balloons taking off and flying over the Downs and Sussex countryside. This year the weather was so warm with bright blue skies. Watching the balloons was just magical, especially being able to see them in the sky as the sun was setting.
I can’t wait for next year when I’ll definitely be up early to see them setting up.

Has anyone else’s Facebook Page gone crazy with back to mobile phone school photos? Do you love it or hate? I hear older mums complain that their feeds are taken up with others peoples photos and younger mums saying that they’re not going to do it.. It seems to be a love/hate relationship.
For me I’m a lover.. I take lots of photos of the children but I don’t always see the progress that they make. I just suddenly see they’ve got taller or me grown up. I love the yearly reminder, knowing that each September I will see the photos if the children and it’ll show me gorgeous photos of their progress through their school years.
They will always come up to remind me how much they are growing up and how precious the time is that we have before they leave school and those years are gone for good. Even the children can look back and see what gorgeous little tiddlers they were and what gorgeous children they are today.
My two are military kids so haven’t stayed in the same school or the same house so for them its great to have reminders. It shows them where they have been..
We love keeping height charts and recording their memories and every year without fail I get a memory come up on FB to show me how they are changing.
So, its not about anyone else, its just a gorgeous way to see the progress my children are making. The only regret I have is not going the whole way and taking photos of the simple things… tying their shoe laces, brushing their hair, getting their bags ready etc.
Forget about what everyone else says and post those photos!!
It only ever seems to happen in England…. A Lunar Eclipse…. longest one Britain will be able to see…. beautiful orange moon will be visible for much of the evening on 27th July so get your cameras ready!
Or maybe not..
I decided after weeks of perfect, cloudless skies tonight I would definitely be able to get an awesome photo of a blood moon! Tonight I would head to the beach, wait and get that photo.
However…
the cloud came and the heavens opened.. the long awaited rain came…. and the clouds moved in…for the evening!!
I had to be in Worthing anyway for a very tough session so I decided to clear my head and see what I could find.
I went on a little road trip and saw Patcham Windmill Brighton with a mean grey sky behind it..
The beach huts at Lancing whose colour look great against the rolling, moody skies behind them with a bit of clear sky around them
Even the boats looked full of colour as the skies changed again before the sun started to set
After this I ended up at Worthing Beach where I set up for the evening and waited for the cloud to clear so I could capture my perfect photo…
However I spent most of the evening talking to other people also trying to catch glimpse of the moon and then I got distracted by the awesome thunder storm out to sea that I missed any opportunity that arose to capture the moon.
I never manage to get lighting photos so I was extremely excited that if I couldn’t see the moon there was at least something else cool going on.
Worthing Pier looked pretty awesome all lit up and the storm just streaked across the whole sky
So while it wasn’t the time for me to get my “Moon Photo” I still had a pretty good evening
I hope you guys had more luck than me… and if not, we only have 6 months to wait for the next one. And you never know the skies may just be clear.
It was such a pleasure meeting Katie, as I work with her mum in my day job, so being able to capture some beautiful images of her daughter was very exciting. What made it even better was the fact that we share a love of the beach so I was able to do my first themed photo session. When I set this up I was so excited
and I couldn’t wait for the day to come round when little Katie would come to my studio.
After lots of feeding we were able to settle Katie very well for her session but she did something that really made me work… she LOVED to sleep with her tongue sticking out. It was a very endearing look and a memory that will make them laugh in years to come (I know because my own daughter used to stick her tongue out in the wind and we lived on Anglesey where it was ALWAYS windy so she constantly had a lizard tongue ????????) However, as cute as the little tongue was we decided we didn’t want it in every photo as it would be nice to have some of Katie looking beautiful without her tongue out.
And we managed it.. We were able to poke it in just long enough to grab some peaceful photos before she put it back out. It’s definitely made a funny session as we couldn’t stop laughing every time she’d poke it out, it was like she knew the camera was there and wanted to have some fun.
For this session I did it in two parts as Katie’s big sister was away so we did a family session at a later date and I’ll add the photos as soon as possible..
I love Autumn and today was feeling too lazy to tidy the house. My springer was looking at me longingly so I decided to head out with my camera and take a break. The Wey and Arun canal is beautiful and the colours are really starting to come out.
I parked at The Onslow Arms Pub http://onslowarmsloxwood.com/ car park in Loxwood because I could head straight out onto the tow path and when I came back I could pop in a grab a quick drink. It also does great food but today I just enjoyed their beer garden after my walk. The colours didn’t disappoint and the oranges were really starting to come out.
The recently renovated locks are looking great and you can tell that the canal is really looked after. I didn’t walk far today but you can walk all the way to Guildford which is also very beautiful.
