Can’t believe I’m disappointed today that there aren’t many Christmas decorations in the shop, when I thinking about what props to use for my Christmas minis.
Now taking booking for Newborn sessions… I only work 2 weekends a month so spaces book quickly.
Feel free to contact me for more information on how I can provide a relaxed photography experience for you and your baby…
The first thought that went through my mind when I walked through the door was…”Wow, there are babies and children everywhere!” The second thought that went through my mind was “Where was Sarah when I had my two children, I LOVE IT!!??!”
The idea with Fit Mummy is that while you participate in the class your babies or young children get to come along too. Some are just sitting there behaving themselves looking angelic, others are next door in the attached play area, some are even climbing all over mummy (or someone else) or even being held by Sarah while she runs the class.
Today, because of the summer holidays older children were also attending and enjoying the play space or sitting with mum munching on snacks.
If you are looking to get your figure back after having children but worry about what to do with your little ones then this class is PERFECT for you. It is the most relaxed class I’ve been to as babies are everywhere but no one cares. Sometimes children need feeding or bringing back to their little mat and their toys but whatever happens no one looks at you funny or glares at you for ruining their session. Its just all good fun. Everyone is in the same situation and it is just so friendly. Surprisingly, the babies all did really well, yes some moved around but I thought it would be crazy.. it wasn’t it was lovely and really great to see mums able to return to exercise with little ones along for the ride.
I really do wish this class was around when my children were little as they hated to be left in a creche somewhere and I was always worried about what would happen if they “kicked off”. I really liked the fact that children were there and they were even used as part of the exercises, which kept them entertained too. I would always head out for a run with mum buggy but this is also a great way to meet new mums and Sarah is just lovely and so welcoming… so get yourselves along to the next session, you won’t regret it.
If you are interested in joining the Fit Mummy group Sarah can be contacted on 07939 656082. They also run classes for pregnant mums both in Crawley and Horsham. They can also be found on Facebook.
Thank you so much to the Fit Mummy Ladies for letting me come and take your photos. If you attend the Fit Mummy fitness class and would like to book a private session for your child, family, new baby etc as I thank you, you will receive three 7 x 5 inch prints as gift when you purchase one of my packages.
Wow, what fun this session was. Reuben was only 8 days old when he came for his 1st set of photos and what a dream baby he was. As soon as he arrived his mum gave him a feed so that he was full up and ready to sleep, and he did just that.
He was such a relaxed little boy that we were able to just put him where he was needed and he just slept. His brothers were wonderful but slightly harder work (they were awake) but they did a great job and loved playing on the trampoline when they weren’t required for photos. It was easy to see that they were really pleased to have a little brother and just loved to look after him.
At the end we had a quick session with mum and dad as well which was really fun as everyone completely relaxed and just enjoyed themselves. I have absolutely loved editing this session and am so pleased that the family love them just as much as I do.
I’m so excited the gallery is finished and I’m extremely happy that Eileen likes her gallery.
Eileen is the owner of Tailors Through Time who runs workshops at various schools in Crawley and the surrounding area.
Currently, she will be working with Year 3 and Year 6 and will be talking about the Victoria Era.
She has been extremely busy recently making authentic Victorian outfits that the children are able to try on. She has made them a true likeness to those worn back in the 1900s and has even been using Victorian patterns. Should your child have the pleasure of attending a Tailors through Time workshop I’m sure they will have a thoroughly enjoyable day as the outfits are wonderful and Eileens has so much knowledge, its wonderful to listen to.
The day was very busy but the children had great fun trying them on and even learnt a bit of history at the same time..
I’ve added some photos from the day showing the beautiful clothes that Eileen has made and to show how wonderful they look on the models.
Such fun day today…
It was a wonderful family occasion working for my Aunt who is an extremely talented seamstress and runs “Tailors through Time”.
She has been very busy designing and making each and every outfit as it would’ve been made during the Victorian era, so that she can take them into the local schools of Crawley, Horsham and the surrounding area and provide workshops for Year 3 and 6.
The plan today was to go to Weald and Downland museum so the children could have a look round and try on the outfits in the beautiful museum setting. Due to the rain though, we ended up bringing the photo shoot session forward and the children had a great time trying on the outfits and testing out their “Victorian” poses in the studio instead.
I’m really excited about editing the photos but here is one sneak preview of all the children together in the amazing period costumes. If you are a teacher and are interested in Victorian workshops for Year 3 and 6, these outfits are absolutely beautiful and your students will love to try them on. Colour versions and closes up to follow….
The models here are:
Hayden – age 10, Katie – age 10, Maddie – age 8, Alfie – age 7, Harvey – age 6 and Bailey the dog – age 9 and as you can see the outfits fit them perfectly.
I had an exciting meeting this week with Sarah from Fit Mummy.
As a photographer I love capturing photos of newborn babies and children but as a mum who loves sport I understand how hard it is to fit in exercise.
Sarah and Lizzie are both fitness instructors and mums who realised that there is little in the way of exercise for mums to be and mums once the babies arrive so between them they have designed some wonderful classes. They provide pre and post natal classes once your baby arrives. The wonderful thing about these classes is that you can attend them with your baby. It’s a wonderful way to lose your baby weight but without having to leave you gorgeous new baby with someone else. Being a new mum can also be a lonely time as you adjust to looking after something so fragile but Fit mummy sessions also provides a great social network.
Sarah and I have decided to join together to show new mums what opportunities are available. I will be attending some of the classes to meet the Fit Mummies and to capture some photos of them with their babies participating in the sessions with Sarah and Lizzie.
I will also be offering Fit Mummies a special discount with will enable them the ability to have a photo session to capture either some maternity photos or newborn photos once the baby has been born. Watch this space because more information will be coming soon….
Unfortunately today’s newborn photography session had to be postponed, which does happen when working with brand new babies and their mummas. My studio in Billingshurst was all set up and ready to go so I couldn’t decide what to do with my new three hours of spare time.
Practise won…. but no babies…..ummm…… dolls and teddies it is though… Slightly harder to pose than a gorgeously new squishy baby but there is definitely less poo and wee. I also really enjoyed using the new back drop, baby bed and antique pram though and can’t wait to put them into practise.
If you’re thinking of a newborn photo shoot please do not hesitate to contact me at email@example.com
