Bespoke School Photo Sessions

SPECIAL OFFER

School Uniform Photography

This year I have decided to run some school photo sessions.

Each year I love to have photos of my children in their school uniform standing together, ready to start the new year.  In many areas brothers and sisters attend a primary school and a secondary school and each year have their photo taken at school, as individuals and as siblings.

In Sussex , we some primary schools but we also have infants and juniors so quickly children have move from one school to the next and they can no longer have photos sat together.   On my wall as a child I remember looking at my school sibling photos and I loved to see how much we had grown but in this area there isn’t that opportunity.

I have decided to run some short sessions where you can bring your children and they can have both their individual photos PLUS their sibling photo together.  It doesn’t matter which school they go to, they can all stand together in their individual school uniform and all for ONE price… PLUS you will be there so you can ensure that you children are clean and tidy, uniform is smart and their hair has been brushed.  Feel free to bring an item they love from school if they wish to have this in their photo to, whether it be reading a book, standing with a cricket bat or football, or even their musical instrument.

Once the session is finished I will edit your photos and you will get to choose which images you would like to purchase.

About the session

The session will last about 10 minutes and I will be running these over a few days, which will include some after school and some at the weekend of Half Term as I know it is REALLY hard to pin children down when there as so many clubs!

School Photo Sessions

PRICING

Now I have to say, this was the trickiest part when deciding to run these sessions because EVERYONE wants something different… some only wanted 1 photo of 1 child only some had 3 children and wanted prints of each child plus sibling photos, some wanted prints for the grandparents too, whereas some wanted it for themselves only, some some said only images on disc to print yourself, some definitely no disc, some with mounts, some without…. see the list was endless…. so my brain was a bit overloaded because I wanted to make these affordable.

At school you know each set that comes home is for one child so you have a price per child and you can choose which set works best.  Here it will be ONE price PER family, you just need to choose which option works best for you.  I am happy to discuss other options if you need different sizes etc or mounts.

Upon purchase these images will be automatically downloadable for you to keep, print and share as you wish.

Back to school mobile phone photo craze…

Has anyone else’s Facebook Page gone crazy with back to mobile phone school photos?  Do you love it or hate?  I hear older mums complain that their feeds are taken up with others peoples photos and younger mums saying that they’re not going to do it.. It seems to be a love/hate relationship.

For me I’m a lover.. I take lots of photos of the children but I don’t always see the progress that they make.  I just suddenly see they’ve got taller or me grown up.  I love the yearly reminder, knowing that each September I will see the photos if the children and it’ll show me gorgeous photos of their progress through their school years.

They will always come up to remind me how much they are growing up and how precious the time is that we have before they leave school and those years are gone for good.  Even the children can look back and see what gorgeous little tiddlers they were and what gorgeous children they are today.

My two are military kids so haven’t stayed in the same school or the same house so for them its great to have reminders.  It shows them where they have been..

We love keeping height charts and recording their memories and every year without fail I get a memory come up on FB to show me how they are changing.Crawley Photography

So, its not about anyone else, its just a gorgeous way to see the progress my children are making.  The only regret I have is not going the whole way and taking photos of the simple things… tying their shoe laces, brushing their hair, getting their bags ready etc.

Forget about what everyone else says and post those photos!!

The Lunar Eclispe…will England see a blood moon on 27th July?

It only ever seems to happen in England…. A Lunar Eclipse…. longest one Britain will be able to see…. beautiful orange moon will be visible for much of the evening on 27th July so get your cameras ready!

Or maybe not..

I decided after weeks of perfect, cloudless skies tonight I would definitely be able to get an awesome photo of a blood moon!  Tonight I would head to the beach, wait and get that photo.

However…

the cloud came and the heavens opened.. the long awaited rain came…. and the clouds moved in…for the evening!!

I had to be in Worthing anyway for  a very tough session so I decided to clear my head and see what I could find.

I went on a little road trip and saw Patcham Windmill Brighton with a mean grey sky behind it..

Even the boats looked full of colour as the skies changed again before the sun started to set

After this I ended up at Worthing Beach where I set up for the evening and waited for the cloud to clear so I could capture my perfect photo…

However I spent most of the evening talking to other people also trying to catch glimpse of the moon and then I got distracted by the awesome thunder storm out to sea that I missed any opportunity that arose to capture the moon.

I never manage to get lighting photos so I was extremely excited that if I couldn’t see the moon there was at least something else cool going on.

Lightning over Worthing Pier

Worthing Pier looked pretty awesome all lit up and the storm just streaked across the whole sky

So while it wasn’t the time for me to get my “Moon Photo” I still had a pretty good evening

I hope you guys had more luck than me… and if not, we only have 6 months to wait for the next one. And you never know the skies may just be clear.

Newborn Lifestyle session

It was lovely to be invited into this gorgeous families home to meet their beautiful 3 week old daughter and nearly 3 year old little boy; who was very excited to show me his new baby sister.

Natural light Photography Billingshurst

We decided to go for natural family lifestyle images to capture the closeness of the new family of four. After capturing some photos of them together on their window seat Henry was happy to show me upstairs to his parents room and the nursery where we were able to capture some tender moments while I tried to stay out-of-the-way.

Little Florence didn’t settle well for the beanbag part of the session so while mum took some time out to feed Florence I decided to head into the playroom to chat and play with Henry, who wanted to show me his mobile phone.  I think you’ll agree he looks very cute on it.

Unfortunately, after this Florence didn’t settle very well so we agreed to meet up again to finish off the beanbag part of the session.  When I returned Florence was a little dream and we were able to capture some more adorable photos of her.  It really was lovely to meet another lovely family.

Enjoying the beauty of spring in Sussex

Billingshurst rape field, sussex

I love the spring and after living away from Sussex for the last 20 years it doesn’t stop surprising me with its beauty!

Whilst driving home from another of the children’s clubs last night we drove past this field.  A quick U turn and a screeching halt in a lay by I bundled the children out of the car to enjoy the moment.

This was at the edge of the lay by with the sun setting in the background, while my daughter was in the field watching it set.

They then decided they wanted to hide along the path before we jumped back in the car and headed home.Children amongst the rape seed, sussex

I think writing this blog and technology going wrong actually took longer to do than capturing a lovely moment with my children…

So, put down your tablet, grab a camera and go capture a moment.. happy snapping this spring x

Love my new wall…

I wanted to share my updated wall with you because this is what photography is all about for me.

Its about capturing memories…

They don’t have to perfect studio photos, I just like to keep the good times alive for my family and to show them where they came from…

How many photos do you take each day and how many do you actually display???

Soul Sisters Craft Fayre

What a busy month its been.  Everyone seems to be super organised and getting their photo session booked so that they’ll have some beautiful Christmas presents.

I, however, am hoping to buy a few gifts this weekend when I’m attending the Soul Sisters Event at The Haven Centre in Crawley Down.  I will be running mini photo sessions but there will also be gift stalls, dancers, father christmas, entertainment for the children and much more.  All stalls are held by local female businesses so come along and share your support and grab some presents on the way…

Excited and Nervous…

I’m so excited as I’ve just got off the phone with some lovely ladies,  who are running a Christmas pamper day in November.  It’s going to be in Crawley Down and I’m going to be running mini photo sessions throughout the day.

Its a family event with loads for the children plus lots for the parents too.

More details to follow but email me at clairewildersphotography@gmail.co.uk if you wish to put your child’s name down for a mini session.  I will be taking props for various ages from newborn plus setting up for a Christmas mini shoot too.

More details to follow 😃

Making a Twig Christmas Tree

Christmas Mini Session, BillingshursyWho’d have thought I would be thinking about Christmas when it’s only October..

Preperation for a Christmas mini session needs to be early as the actual sessions will start in November, as this will enable you to order your Christmas cards etc.

I couldn’t decide on the tree for my backdrop, so after a lovely Autumn walk today with the children, I decided a Christmas Tree made out of twigs would be ideal with the winter backdrop that I am using.

What do you think? I’m rather impressed with my craft skills today. 😃👍🏼

If you are interested in a Christmas mini shoot email me at clairewildersphotography@gmail.com and I will add you to the mailing list.  The sessions are limited so it’s best to book early.
